Fine Sinter Human Rights Policy

The Fine Sinter Group (Fine Sinter Co., Ltd., its subsidiaries and affiliates, hereinafter referred to as the “Group”) has established “Through manufacturing Fine Sinter contributes to the happiness of people and a better society” as its basic philosophy. The Group’s approach to sustainability is contained in this basic philosophy. Furthermore, the Group has established a “Code of Conduct” that embodies actions that must be taken based on the basic philosophy. In order to contribute to a sustainable society, the Group is committed to fulfilling its responsibility to respect human rights, which are the fundamental rights that all people are born with, in every aspect of its “manufacturing” activities through its business.

Compliance with Laws and Regulations Related to Respect for Human Rights

The Group supports and respects international human rights norms, including the “International Bill of Human Rights,” which stipulates the fundamental human rights that all people of the world should enjoy; the International Labour Organization’s “ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work,” which stipulates fundamental rights at work (freedom of association the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining; the elimination of all forms of forced or compulsory labor; the effective abolition of child labor; and the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation); and the principle of “free, prior and informed consent” with regard to the rights of indigenous peoples. This policy is based on the UN’s “Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.” The Group conducts business activities in compliance with the laws and regulations applicable in the respective country or region. Where there is a conflict between internationally recognized human rights and national or local laws and regulations, the Group will seek ways to ensure that international human rights principles are respected. This policy applies to all officers and employees of the Group.

Respect for Human Rights Throughout Our Business Activities

The Group will respect human rights by working to ensure that human rights are not violated and by addressing negative impacts on human rights in its business activities. The Group will promote respect for human rights through the initiatives stipulated in its Sustainability Policy and policies and guidelines in each area. We provide a safe and comfortable work environment, where all of us respect employees and co-workers and free and open communication is encouraged, as well as opportunities for growth. We provide safe and reliable products based on the concept of valuing customers. We will deepen our understanding of our customers through dialogue to improve our products and communication. We understand the potential impact of our business activities on people in local communities and strive to achieve coexistence with local communities. Furthermore, in cases where negative impacts on human rights by business partners or other parties concerned are directly or indirectly linked to the Group’s business or products, the Group will demand that these partners also respect and not violate human rights.

Human Rights Due Diligence

The Group will strive to identify, prevent, or mitigate negative impacts on human rights through its human rights due diligence mechanism.

Remedies

If it becomes clear that the Group has caused or is involved in causing a negative impact on human rights, the Group will work to remedy it through appropriate procedures.

Education

The Group will reflect this policy in the necessary procedures so that the policy takes root in all its business activities, and will provide appropriate education and training to its directors and employees so that this policy is understood and effectively implemented.

Dialogue and Consultation

The Group will consult with relevant stakeholders regarding how to respond to potential and actual impacts on human rights.

Information Disclosure

The Group will report on its efforts to respect human rights on its website, etc.
